Lynn Community Health Center is proud to celebrate the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for our pharmacy, which opened earlier this year. The event, held on Wednesday, August 9th, marked a significant milestone in providing enhanced healthcare services to our community.

Among the gathering were local officials including Lynn Mayor Jared Nicholson, our State Delegation including Senator Brendan Crighton and Representatives Dan Cahill, Pete Capano, and Jenny Armini, and our Federal Delegation Regional Directors Caroline Freedman (Senator Elizabeth Warren), Liam Horsman (Senator Ed Markey) and Kelly Bovio (Congressman Seth Moulton).

Additionally, we were thrilled to welcome back on-site representatives from our partners at our ACO C3, the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers, Element Care, the Greater Lynn Chamber of Commerce, and more community allies without whom we would not be able to accomplish many of the programs that we conduct within the community. Project partners Lee Kennedy, AKF, and Environments for Health were also present.

This event highlighted the collaborative efforts that have made this endeavor a reality, showcasing the strong commitment to improving the overall health and well-being of Lynn residents.

“We are the largest provider of primary health care and behavioral health services in Lynn, and our goal with this pharmacy project is to ensure access to low-cost and affordable prescription medications for this community, especially patients who are uninsured, underinsured, and/or low-income. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated elected officials and project partners who have supported and believed in our vision,” said Dr. Geoff Pechinsky, Interim CEO of Lynn Community Health Center. “Together, we have created a valuable resource that will positively impact the lives of countless individuals.”

The Lynn Community Health Center Pharmacy is not only a testament to the power of collaboration, but also a beacon of accessibility. As part of our mission to serve the community, the pharmacy is open to everyone in Lynn, not limited to our patients. This inclusive approach ensures that high-quality pharmaceutical care and services are readily available to all, especially as we seek to better manage access and minimize the impact of the 340B Program challenges on our patient population.

“We have already seen the positive impact building and opening this Pharmacy has had on our patients including improved quality of care due to the integration of clinical pharmacists with our health care teams, increased patient engagement and enhanced management of chronic conditions, and ease of obtaining medications as LCHC providers are able to submit prescriptions during an appointment and it will be ready for pickup shortly after, right on a patient’s way out,” shared Kimberly Eng, Chief Operating Officer. “Within the first month, 32% of our patients were using the pharmacy and by month 4 of being open, we had exceeded our Year 2 monthly volume projections! Together, we can continue to build a healthier and stronger Lynn.”
